Joel Ramirez:  Performance Coach, USAT Multisport Coach, NASM CPT

Everyone has an inner champion.  My job is to help them tap into it and give them the resources to resurrect it.  My passion lies in unlocking the potential of the mind and body and helping others do the same. With over twenty five years of coaching and endurance racing experience, both nationally and internationally; I have logged countless miles, learning many lessons’ along the way. Namely, no one makes it to the top alone; “it takes a village.” My desire to climb atop the podium and pass these skills along to clients, forced me to learn and adopt cutting edge therapeutic modalities for peak performance. In doing so, my team and I have helped innumerable people to be lighter, leaner, stronger and faster both mentally and physically. In 2004, inspired by my experience at the Olympic Training Center, I founded Breakaway, a performance training center for endurance athletes in San Francisco’s financial district. Breakaway offered comprehensive diagnostics and training programs to help athletes achieve podium success. Having sold the brand in 2013 to a health club chain, I am now taking performance coaching to a new level; working with a new team of specialists to help executives reset the bodies’ digestive, nervous, muscular and endocrine systems to increase their longevity, vitality and to thrive.  The new company is called Optime’, Latin for “optimal”.

Tommy Siu, DC, CMT

Pain more often than not presents itself in a different location than its origin. Thus, people mistakenly treat the symptom rather than the problem. Dr. Siu became a Doctor of Chiropractic because he knows there is a better way. He uses a variety of modalities including neurological reprogramming to help patients work past their dysfunction for pain free living. He believes that health consists of the physical, mental and spiritual, and that it is important to address all three aspects in a fashion that works synergistically. While he treats patients with pain mitigation, he also educates clients per his mantra “everyone should take full responsibility of their own health by being more proactive.”

  • 2020 - Doctor of Chiropractic

  • 2019 - IASTM Certified

Laura Combs

Laura is a health coach who binds together her knowledge of yoga, fitness, and functional nutrition to deliver a simple and effective approach to whole-body healing. She believes that with the correct mindset and approach to nutrition, exercise and daily habit everyone is capable of living life to their maximum potential.

Laura comes from a competitive figure skating background and leads a physically active lifestyle. She has always been curious about how the human body can function in the most efficient ways and how she could achieve her physical and mental goals. As a competitive figure skater winning 7 gold medals she has created values of hard work, perseverance, and daily practice. What began as a curiosity as to how much fitness the mind and body could achieve turned into a lifestyle and career. Laura was introduced to yoga at a young age and teaching has been her lifelong dream. Although Laura loves teaching yoga she sees it as just one branch of her holistic approach to achieving mastery of the body and mind.  “I love teaching yoga but my passion comes from truly inspiring others to take control of their own lives and to become the best versions of themselves. Change starts with simple daily habits to adopt. It progresses with a deepened awareness of the body and environment and excels when you find the perfect balance.” Laura’s mission is to help guide others with empathy, knowledge, and respect toward fulfilling individual health and lifestyle aspirations.
